Ms. Sylvia is offering Art Classes for Children and Adults!
ART CLASSES ARE NOW IN-PERSON AND ONLINE!
Fall 2026 Classes Begin After Labor Day, September 8! Registration is now!
- We are introducing a new intermediate Serious Sketchers class for ages 14-17 on Wednesdays from 6:15-7:15 PM.
- Classes are face-to-face at Sycamore Place Gallery, Decatur, GA and/or on Zoom! Wherever you go the classes are accessible as long as you have
Wi-Fi and a device!
- Group classes are $105 / month. An Art Supply Packet (for the children’s class only) is included, and a list of art supplies will be provided for adults.
Classes:- Monday 6:15-7:15 PM: Serious Sketchers & Fantasy Drawing (middle and high school). $105 / month. This class emphasizes classical and whimsical drawing techniques with a variety of media, incorporating traditional execution and fantasy drawing.
- Tuesday 5-6 PM: Serious Sketchers & Fantasy Drawing (ages 8-11). $105 / month. This class teaches students beginning classical drawing with an emphasis on the imagination and learning how to look at details in developing eye-hand coordination.
- Wednesday 5-6 PM: Multimedia Arts & Crafts (ages 5-8). $105 / month. This is an introductory art class where the child is exposed to a variety of media and storytelling. Children learn to draw from their dreams and feelings.
- Wednesday 6:15-7:15 PM: Intermediate Serious Sketchers (ages 14-17). $105 / month. This class caters to older students who have a more advanced skillset with an eye towards developing their portfolio skills using a variety of media.
- Wednesdays 7:30-9:00 PM: Abstract Acrylics for Adults. $105 / month. This class teaches beginning and continuing adults how to play with acrylic paint and work with traditional and experimental techniques.
- Thursdays 6:00-7:30 PM: Watercolors & Sketching for Adults. $105 / month. This class uses traditional techniques in watercolor and learning how to look so students can render their subject with water color pencils or paintbrush.
In all classes, Ms. Sylvia incorporates the language of art and art history, referencing contemporary and historical styles of local and international artists.

Ms. Sylvia can also help students at all levels develop their Portfolios for high school and college admissions.

Gift certificates are available for art classes for children and adults from Sycamore Place Gallery. This is a perfect gift choice for friends and family. Gift Certificates are $105 for 4 one-hour group sessions or $210 for 4 private one-hour sessions. Get a group together for a family class! Or take classes with an established group!
Ms. Sylvia and Sycamore Place Gallery are available for birthday parties, special events, private art openings, family occasions, and more! Contact her to discuss your plans!
Gallery space for artists is currently available: $165 per month for a half space; $300 per month for a full space. Both include opportunities for group and solo art shows.
